The 2013 London Design Festival ended on Sunday (SOB!) we had a fantastic time and are still lusting after some of the amazing products we have seen, so we thought we would look back over the last week and blog about are best bits!

The Countdown Begins...

Interior Addict showroom will open in London’s Commercial Street in less than a week. We’ve included a few preview photos, showing the latest from site. Many more photos to come over the next few days!

The Display Elements - Showroom Refurbishment!

Last week, we wrote about our refurbishment project for the 'Interior Addict' showroom. Since then a lot has happened – the showroom has been cleared, painted, and we are about to fit the new display elements.

The importance of the manufacturing process is integral to Interior Addicts philosophy. When designing the display elements Hide and Seek Studios wanted to showcase the philosophy and the importance of traditional techniques and craftsmanship.

We have been working closely with Live Iconic designer Dan Edwards and with specialist craftsman at the IA Swindon Workshop. From the initial concept to final production they have created a versatile, multifunctional display system that can be interconnected and easily modified.

Here is a few of the initial sketch ideas of what is to come. We will be showing you the manufacturing process over the next few weeks. We hope you are as excited as we are to see them built.

 

  

 

 

 

TRANSFORMING THE INTERIOR ADDICT SHOWROOM!

Interior Addict Showroom coming soon!  

We are very proud to announce that this autumn will see the launch of the newly refurbished Interior Addict Showroom. We are all very excited about the new design and can’t wait to share it with you – and we promise you will not be disappointed! For this project we continue our relationship with furniture specialists Interior Addict and British designer makers Live Iconic.

The brief was to create a showroom that is completely unique and that demonstrates design and creative flair. Hide and Seek Studios design concept draws inspiration from the techniques used within traditional furniture manufacturing. Referencing joints, timber grains, furniture structures, craft, and angular lines to create beautifully crafted display structures.

Clever design elements are apparent throughout maximising product display using large table tops for accessories, adjustable shelving systems and storage display boxes. The light well is a key feature for the scheme, displaying the lights on pulley systems over a double height space responding to the buildings industrial past.

The concept is to create a visually exciting destination showroom through the design of specific ‘Inspiration Zones’.  Each zone has its own colour palette ranging for ‘Blue Horizons’ to ‘Monochrome with a twist’. With a total of 14 zones planned for both floors we can promise that there will be something to suit your mood.

Development is starting this Saturday and over the next few weeks we will share the inspiration behind our design concepts through to the design, development and eventual construction of the showroom. It’s going to be an exciting ride and we hope you will come along with us!
